Effortless

Essentialism is doing what’s right, Effortless is doing it right.

It’s broken down into 3 parts. Effortless State, Action and Result

State

In Effortless State, we try as hard to make our bodies physically rested, emotionally unburdened and mentally energised.

We identify the problem then invert it to make it simpler to understand.

Release what’s burdening the mind. Don’t focus on what you lack, focus on what you have.

Rest. Again, get good night's sleep. Invest in your bed. Try to do nothing sometimes. Sit down and just relax.

Enjoy. Work Hard vs Play Hard. Find something in between, that's where true enjoyment comes from.

Action

In Action, it's about accomplishing more by trying less. Pace yourself instead of power through.

Start with defining the goal and end with what it looks like. That way it’s easier to gravitate towards that direction. Establish conditions for completion.

Start, make the first more the obvious one.

Simplify, in the process don’t simplify the steps, remove them. Not everything requires an extra mile effort. Maximise on steps not taken. Measure the tiniest progress.

Progress, start with a rubbish first draft. Protect yourself from harsh critics.

Pace, slow is smooth, smooth is fast. Don’t bulldoze your way through progress.

Result

In the Result, is to keep learning fundamental principles, lift other people by teaching, and automate to free up brain space. Use a checklist to get things right every time.

Leverage on trust, trust other people will do a good job. Hire people with 3i’s, Integrity, Intelligent and Initiative.

Prevent future problems. Solve it before it happens. Though before you can do this, solve the current problem that we have.

Love this book. Great insights on how to take one step at a time.

More importantly, never compare your steps (or leap) with others. You'll feel slow. But slow is smooth, smooth is fast. Take things at your own pace.

A share would be, Sublime.
